I’m taking a quick break from card week to bring you Tree Day!
I am just super pleased with how it turned out this year. We decided to get a real tree, and it is my first real tree ever! It is also about twice the size of our fake tree, which meant I got to go shopping and buy all new ornaments! It’s only 4 feet tall, but it sits on our coffee table and takes up like half the apartment anyways.
We decided on red as our main colour, purple as the accent and gold as the shiny (and by we I mean I asked Dylan what colour he wanted and he said he liked red). My favourite colour is purple, and I saw those purple glitter poinsettias at the Dollarama last week, so I got a bunch of those.
They are also great for hiding the join between lights. I had ribbon on hand, and all the rest of the balls are from Dollarama- which means they are cat-proof (though strangely he has not been interested in the tree at all).
I made a bunch of purple bows from ribbon I already had.
I am so so pleased with how it turned out. I mean, it took me only 8 hours to set up (including running out to the stores 3 times, making the star topper from scratch, and then taking photos). So I just wanted to show off a little ;P
