Barcelona- one of our least favorite places in Spain, but still pretty awesome. I am catching up scrapbooking last year’s trip. And I just got back from a trip to Spain and Morocco so now I have an even bigger catch up pile!
Oh well. For this layout I was inspired by the wavy, organic architecture and Picasso’s influence. I started with a wavy grid cut file, that I inserted my photos into in Studio, and did a print and cut to make them fit exactly into the spaces. If you print to PDF in Studio, then send the PDF to Staples, they will print it on nice glossy paper, and then it can be cut for you by your Silhouette. I then backed the remaining spaces with papers from my Scraptastic Club January kit, and added stitching.
I also used Pink Paislee’s Atlas ephemera pack and some memorabilia from the trip to decorate the page. I fussy cut the little banner from a business card from a place we ate on the trip.
For the actual background, I pulled out one of my 12×12 paper pads that had a sparkly bright yellow chevron pattern on it. I liked the chevron, but I found it way to bright for what I wanted, so I covered the page in white gesso. I then used a chevron stamp with blue ink to add some blue/teal. I used a red pen to journal some of the places we went.
Lastly, I added a title using American Crafts Dear Lizzy thickers, following the wavy line.
Here is the cut file that I started everything with:
