I had a challenge when making this card: make it work as both a congratulations on your wedding and baby boy card, for a joint bridal/baby shower. I had to make it look romantic, yet not be too girly. I chose a soft mint green for my color scheme and this floral mint paper by Dear Lizzy is perfect.
It’s from the polka dot party collection.
I cut the paper in a semi-circle on one corner, stitched it down with mint thread, and sprayed it with mint green shimmer spray (Ascents). The vellum bits are from the Open Book collection by Maggie Holmes.
I love working on things at crops. I was thinking aloud “I wish I had some mint green enamel dots” and my crop buddy Dominique just handed me a pack of Close to my Heart enamel dots in mint green!
For the sentiment, I thought a simple congrats encompassed everything that I wanted to say with this card. I love how the Silhouette makes such thin, delicate cuts! Free Congrats cut file can be found below. I glued it onto two sheets of vellum that I stitched together and everything was popped up on hot glue. The lock and key (dollar store stickers, shh) add a bit of romance to the card.
