Ahhh So handsome! I love these photos of him posing on a mirror. He was a natural model! This is part of another two page spread, I have yet to scrapbook the facing page.
I had 4 photos that I wanted to fit onto a page. I had a sketch, a color scheme, a title, and it all came together mostly as planned, with a few tweaks along the way. For my background, I chose white paper and stuck 2 strips on the left side, one a scrap piece of kraft paper and the other the woodgrain paper scrap from a different layout. I took some gold tissue paper and cut a really long strip, then scrunched it all into a ruffle, which I then sewed on with black thread. I also had some gold foil that I scrunched up and then flattened for behind the title. Lastly I splattered on some black and gold liquid watercolors. For the photos, I didn’t have any room to mat them, but I wanted a way to keep them from blending into each other. I ended up edging them with black marker. I arranged them offset from each other going down the page. At first I was planning on having them all in a line down the page and it looked so wrong until I just offset them about 3/8th of an inch.
The title was simply a font (Ghosttown) with random sized squares around each word or letter. I kept the inside bits for a future page about another handsome cat that I have ;). I stitched those down with more black thread. While I was cutting I also cut this adorable curly arrow from KG Flavor and Frames Three.
I added some random gems, gold washi tape (Dollarama oh how I love thee), and bits of scrap wood veneer from Dylan’s hobby stuff. The “cuteness” label was cut from Theresa Collins He Said She Said paper and then outlined twice by hand with black gel pen.
A gold paperclip from Staples (my second go-to place for scrapbooking supplies) and some black nail-polish drops (I don’t have any black enamel dots and I wasn’t going to wait!) completes the look.
If you discount the time I was interrupted/distracted by various things (like making food….) this layout only took me about an hour or so (all told an entire evening, but what better way to spend an evening!?)
Hope you enjoy!
xoxo
