Here is the last of my Christmas cards! They are all signed, stamped, enveloped, and mailed (or given). And now they are all on here too!
I got some hand lettering going on and doodley wreaths.
I had to change my whole setup for these two cards, as they are blue hued.
Every year I keep saying I want to make more blue and white and silver cards, because they are so pretty and can be more non-denominational, but I keep making only a couple. I’m not sure why. But I really liked this one:
And I wish I could have made more of them, but I only had the one sheet of blue snowflakes, which I entirely used up on this one card. The Joy cut file was once again a free one I got at christmas time last year. Added a bit of silver embossing to it for an extra bit of texture and sparkle (not that this card needed it with all the silver stitching).
This one was another card that I wish I could have made more of, but I did not have the time or patience to hand letter more than one. I love how it’s so simple and elegant, yet makes a big impact. And I’ll let you in on a little secret- the gold shimmer splatter can be applied directly over any smudges or mistakes in the lettering ;).
For this card I was inspired while watching a PurpleMailbox christmas card and layout video- she did a doodle and put a bunch of enamel dots on it… and then she got rid of that! I really liked it though and so I stole the idea for these cards. I used green gems instead of enamel dots though, and added a matching green ribbon bow, which I used the fork technique to tie.
Well this concludes my card week. This is probably going to be my last post before the new year, where I will be coming back with some design team posts! Very exciting! So have a merry Christmas, a happy holiday, and a fantastic new year!
xoxo
