A fun, slightly tacky, mixed media layout. When I was looking through my facebook for photos of Tiger for his scrapbook, I came across these with my atrocious photoshop job, which made me smile. Of course they were going to go in my scrapbook, they showed the most important part of the cat… the precious belly! Since the photos were already tacky, I thought I’d play that up and make a full on tacky page.
I started with a purply blue paper from Deja Views A Cat’s Life collection, added white and bright blue paint, and scraped it across the page with a plastic card. Next I added a crumpled piece of tissue paper, which I misted with pink and mint shimmer spray, and splattered with blue watercolour. Lastly I did wild scribbles with my sewing machine in white. I glued on the photos and stitched around all of them with embroidery floss.
Puffy stickers, gems, sequins, silver stars and homemade enamel dots sprayed randomly across the page for embellishment.
I love the way the textures of this page turned out.
Lastly glitter foam alphas from American Crafts added the perfect tacky touch to this layout. Other than waiting for the mixed media to dry and hand stitching, this layout came together very quickly, and I shockingly didn’t use my Silhouette at all for this.
What’s the tackiest on purpose layout you’ve ever made?
xoxo
