This layout is to be the last page in my Dylan and Angelika album. Not because our story is over, just because my album can only hold so many pages! I was inspired by this quote I saw a long time ago, and it has stuck with me ever since as the perfect ending to an album. It says this album is done, but there will be more!
I also wanted to use just my Scraptastic Club kit for this. Normally I’m all over the place, mixing collections/paper pads, etc, so I wanted to see what I could come us with if I just stuck to one thing. And I really like the result!
I started with AC’s Peach textured cardstock, and applied some modelling paste, then misted with pumpkin Ascents shimmer mist and splashed with black watercolor. I then trimmed it down and stitched it to Maggie Holmes Chapters B-side (after cutting out a square in the middle to save some paper). I then took a little slice of every paper in the kit, and cut them into 3 pieces (no measuring!) and arranged them going diagonally down the page. I doubled up where the photo was to go, and I matted the photo with Amy Tangerine’s Flora B-side. I thought the TRUE<3 wood veneer went perfectly with the sentiment of the page and colored the heart with peach ink on a dauber.
I used the same pink ink on the ALWAYS exclusive cutout. I stamped the date the photo was taken, around the same time as the last thing in the album, which was our trip to Turkey and Spain. I used some of the sentiments from Maggie Holmes Open Book vellum pack (I also went back and added some to the front page to tie it all together). I fussy cut some flowers from the Amy Tangerine paper (which was my favorite of the kit) and used some vellum flowers around my photo.
I adore the flair that came with this kit! Lastly, for the title, I used a pointed brush and black watercolor to paint the words of the title on watercolor paper, and then placed it on my Pixscan Mat to cut it out. There was a tiny bit of white around the edges where the cut was off, but I just added a bit more watercolor. Hot glue popped the title off the page a bit.
Everything came together so beautifully and quickly! Other than waiting for the modelling paste to dry, this took me about an hour to make, which is quick in my book!
I have for you today, my title quote in my handwriting. Enjoy, and share it if you use it!
xoxo
